What Are Invisalign Clear Aligners & How Do They Work?
Invisalign is a trusted, powerful system used across the world to discreetly straighten smiles and produce stunning results. Unlike traditional braces, this form of orthodontic treatment does not rely on brackets and wires. The Invisalign system is made up of a series of fully customized clear trays called aligners that are nearly invisible and completely removable. Each invisible aligner is custom made to fit over the teeth. While the aligners are designed to be worn 20 to 22 hours a day in order to achieve effective tooth movement, they are easily removable to maintain comfortable mealtimes and proper oral hygiene habits. The soft, smooth plastic and removable nature, make adjusting to orthodontic treatment seamless!
Our advanced digital imaging tools allow us to take a complete scan of the mouth to create your customized sets of clear braces. Each pair of clear aligner trays is designed to shift the teeth into an aligned position throughout the progression of your treatment. Because the trays are typically swapped out every two weeks, you will return to our office throughout the duration of your treatment to check your progress and make any necessary adjustments.
If you suffer from the following orthodontic conditions, you could be an ideal candidate for Invisalign:
- Crooked Teeth
- Misshapen Teeth
- Crowded Teeth
- Gaps Between Teeth
- Open Bites
- ... and more!
Your Consultation With Our Invisalign Orthodontist
During your consultation, our Invisalign orthodontist Dr. Macie Mills will carefully examine your teeth and jaw using our digital x-ray technology and imaging tools to determine if clear teeth aligners are right for you.
If you decide to proceed with Invisalign clear braces, she will take non-invasive digital impressions of your teeth and use those impressions to develop your treatment plan.
Generally speaking, most patients with mild-to-moderate misalignment are candidates for Invisalign. Even still, if Dr. Mills discovers a more severe orthodontic issue, she may recommend traditional orthodontics to straighten your teeth instead.
How Much Does Invisalign Cost?
Your total out-of-pocket Invisalign cost will depend on the following criteria:
- The specific terms of your dental insurance coverage
- The length of your Invisalign treatment
- If preliminary procedures or treatments must be completed before you begin treatment with Invisalign
At Mills Orthodontics, we're happy to work with each patient to determine the best financing options for their unique needs. That's why we accept a wide range of dental insurance plans and offer a selection of additional financing options, as well as affordable monthly payment options for uninsured patients.
